Costumes and props worn by Caitríona Balfe and Sam Heughan in the hit TV series Outlander are set to be auctioned off.

For more than a decade, the fantasy series based on the books of the same name by Diana Gabaldon, has captivated audiences worldwide.

Now, on the heels of the eighth and final season currently airing, Bonhams has announced an exclusive auction of props and costumes.

The show follows Claire Fraser (played by Caitríona Balfe), a former World War II nurse who travels through a mysterious stone circle to 18th-century Scotland.

There, she falls in love with Highland warrior Jamie Fraser (played by Scots star Sam Heughan).

Claire and Jamie have transported audiences from the rugged Scottish Highlands to the streets of Paris, and later to the Caribbean and colonial North Carolina.

The live auction will take place on 5 August at Bonhams New Bond Street in London with an online auction running from 20 July to 6 August.

Bonhams will also host a special exhibition of the lots being offered for sale, which will be free and open to the public in Edinburgh from 26 – 31 May.

Highlights of the sale include a Red Ball Gown created for Claire Fraser in season two, estimated to fetch £5,000.

A wedding night ensemble worn by Claire Fraser from her wedding to Jamie in season one is also on sale and could go for £3,500.

The Battle of Culloden costume worn by Jamie Fraser in season three is estimated to sell for £2,000.
