The mysterious disappearance of Florida woman Lynette Hooker in the Bahamas has taken a chilling new turn after her daughter revealed disturbing theories about what may have happened during her mother’s final moments at sea.
According to Lynette’s husband, Brian Hooker, the couple was traveling by small boat near Elbow Cay late at night when Lynette suddenly fell overboard while holding the boat’s keys. He claimed the engine shut off, strong currents pulled her away, and he was unable to save her.
But Lynette’s daughter, Karli Aylesworth, says the story doesn’t add up.

Karli described her mother as an experienced boater, a strong swimmer, and someone who was extremely cautious on the water. She questioned why Lynette would have been holding the boat keys during the trip and believes it would have been highly unlikely for her to accidentally fall into the ocean.
The family’s suspicions reportedly deepened after reviewing newly surfaced footage connected to the trip. Karli said the video revealed unsettling clues that made her believe “something happened” aboard the boat before her mother vanished.
She also claimed her mother’s marriage to Brian had been troubled for years, especially when alcohol was involved. According to Karli, there had allegedly been threatening comments made in the past, including statements about throwing Lynette into the water.
Another detail raising concern for the family was the delay in communication after Lynette disappeared. Karli said Brian allegedly waited more than 24 hours before contacting her, and when he finally did, his tone seemed unusually calm considering the circumstances.
Authorities in the Bahamas detained Brian for questioning during the investigation, though no criminal charges have been filed. He has denied any wrongdoing and insists Lynette’s disappearance was a tragic accident.
After days of searching, rescue efforts eventually shifted into a recovery mission as investigators continued trying to piece together what truly happened during Lynette Hooker’s final night at sea.
