Family Spotlight: The current situation of Elena Moore’s husband is drawing growing interest after the tr@gic discovery
(NewsNation) — As authorities investigate the disappearance and death of Elena Moore, a private investigator is sharing how her family is handling the latest developments.
“He’s grieving,” private investigator Henry Dukes, who was also a friend of her husband, said. “Him and Ms. Moore have been together for a number of years; they built a life together. He planned on spending the rest of his life with her.”
Sondra Rachelle Campbell, a close friend of Moore’s, told NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo that Moore and her husband, Brannon Slice, were having issues in their marriage and planned on separating. She also said she believed there was foul play at hand in her case, calling it “red flags.”
“I think my friend was struggling for her life. I think she was literally afraid for her life,” Campbell said.

Dukes told NewsNation’s Brian Entin he disagrees with Campbell’s claims and argued she doesn’t know the facts of the case.
“If she was such a close friend, law enforcement would have already talked to her,” Dukes said. “She has no factual information to provide, and at the end of the day, I think she needs to do what everybody else is doing and stay in her lane.”
When talking about whether Moore and Slice had marital issues, Dukes said they were private people who didn’t talk about their issues to an extent.
“I’m not saying there might not have been something going on; I’m saying that’s private,” Dukes added. “If it rose to the level of someone’s life being in danger, I think it would have been dealt with.
Elena Moore last seen alive leaving Planet Fitness
Moore, 39, was last seen at a Planet Fitness on Thursday, June 11, 2026, around 6:40 p.m. in South Carolina. Her body was later found on Wednesday, June 17, but she was not identified until Friday.
Moore’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
