“Don’t Leave Me Behind.” The identity of one person still missing after a boat carrying four victims capsized on a lake in Florida has now been confirmed

Three teens were rescued and one remains missing after a canoe capsized on a lake in central Florida.

The incident occurred near the 5500 block of Lake Jessamine Lane around 1 p.m. local time on Monday, March 16, according to a statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) obtained by PEOPLE.

A preliminary investigation indicated four teens were canoeing on Lake Jessamine when the vessel capsized, the sheriff’s office said.

Three teens were rescued, but a fourth teen was not immediately located, they added.

Authorities are now searching for the fourth teen, whose identity has not been made public.

Crews searched for the teen from Monday night into the morning of Tuesday, March 17, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

The OCSO and Orange County Fire Rescue used multiple boats to scan the water, FOX affiliate WOFL reported. Crews also searched the shoreline,

Footage shared by CBS affiliate WKMG showed search crews scouring the water as they looked for the missing teen.

However, crews were forced to pause the search at times as adverse weather conditions — including strong wind, rain and lightning — hampered the search by creating choppy waters, according to WOFL.

Some family members were at the scene of the incident as authorities searched for the missing teen, but did not speak with local media, WKMG and WESH reported.

It is unclear why the canoe overturned or if the teens were wearing life vests at the time of the incident.

The OCSO said the search for the missing teen is ongoing. Fire officials did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The Orange County Environmental Protection Division said Lake Jessamine covers 294 acres and has an average depth of 11 to 16 feet, according to WOFL.
