After the Posts: Elena Moore’s family has unexpectedly turned attention toward her husband as her final messages are revealed
SOUTH Carolina personal trainer Elena Moore shared cryptic messages on a secondary Instagram account about pain, feeling free and moving on weeks before she was found dead.
Moore, 39, vanished on June 11 after checking in to a Planet Fitness and was found dead in a wooded area nearly a week later.
The circumstances surrounding Moore’s death and disappearance have continued to remain a mystery after no cause of death was immediately known in the autopsy report.
The autopsy confirmed there was no evidence of traumatic injury, such as no signs of bruising, blunt force trauma, strangulation or lacerations.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office said “additional evaluation is required, including histological studies, review of medical records, and toxicology testing.”
Moore was found underneath a concrete bridge while authorities were following up on a tip that she was seen heading toward a wooded area.

Moore was frequently active on social media but stopped posting a month before she vanished.
She had a second Instagram account where she shared emotional posts about pain just weeks before she died, according to messages obtained by TMZ.
One post Moore made in May included a long quote talking about “exhausting hatred.”
“I don’t want to hate you, but how could I not?” the quote began.
“I never wanted to look at someone I once loved with disgust and resentment,” the post continued.
Another lengthy quote she shared in March said “the war is over,” while talking about how someone is “no longer my first thought in the morning nor the last thought at night.”
The quote also talked about being grateful someone was no longer in their life, adding “I feel free now, like I can breathe properly again, like I’m not tied down to something that was hurting me.”
“I’m moving forward without looking back, and for the first time in a long time, I feel at peace with it,” the reshared post said.
Mendy Miller, one of Elena’s friends, told TMZ that the personal trainer had been focused on a health and fitness journey that included cutting off “toxic” people in her life, including friends.
Miller called Moore’s disappearance “absolutely shocking” as her friend was always active on social media and she didn’t think she would ever up and leave.
“For her to just to be found dead in the woods makes no sense … anyone who knows her would see this. Someone had to have done something to her,” she said.
Moore’s death remains under investigation by the corner’s office and the state’s largest crime unit, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
A cause and manner of death are expected to be released after the coroner’s additional studies.
Another friend of Moore’s, Lauren Beasley, told Fox News it was unlike the personal trainer to be inactive on social media.
“She is very active on social media so her going radio [silence] for the last month is out of character,” she said.
She was last seen checking into a Planet Fitness in Lexington, South Carolina, at 6:40pm on June 11.
Hours later she was spotted walking across a nearby parking lot of a Publix at 9:17pm before heading toward a wooded area behind a Lowe’s.
Moore was reported missing on June 12 by her husband, Brannon Slice.
Investigators said on June 16, one day before Moore was discovered, that they did not suspect foul play in her death.
They also said Slice was “not a person of interest at the current moment” on June 16.
A close friend of Slice and Moore asked for Slice’s privacy to be respected as all of those close to the personal trainer are “deeply saddened and distressed.”
“The details surrounding the situation are forthcoming. Please respect Brannon’s privacy at this time,” Lee Snell, whose husband officiated Slice and Moore’s wedding in 2024, said on Facebook.
“Elena has a story and Brannon wants to share it when the time is appropriate to do so in hopes of helping others.”
One of Moore’s close friends Sondra Rachelle Campbell has claimed there were “red flags” about her disappearance and claimed Moore and her husband were having marriage problems.
“I think my friend was struggling for her life. I think she was literally afraid for her life,” Campbell told NewsNation.
A week before Moore vanished, she was seen on doorbell camera footage, obtained by The U.S. Sun, allegedly pretending to be a DoorDash driver.
Sarah Burleson said Moore appeared “confused” outside of her apartment and tried entering it after dropping off the food order.
“For the past week we thought it was a crazy DoorDash experience,” she said.
“Something seemed very off and I really hope she turns up safe and sound.”
